CEBU CITY — Thousands of Iglesia ni Cristo members attended the National Rally for Peace at the South Road Properties (SRP) here on Monday, Jan. 13.

They arrived at the venue as early as 7 a.m.
The rally was organized by the INC to call for unity and oppose the impeachment of Vice President Sara Duterte.
Crowd started to swell early in the morning but the formal program started at 3 p.m.
Those who joined the rally came not just from Cebu but also from neighboring provinces Bohol and Negros Oriental.
According to the city disaster risk reduction and management office, the crowd reached about 25,000 in the afternoon.
The Cebu City Police Office (CCPO) deployed at least 300 personnel to secure the activity.
Police Lt. Col. Maria Theresa Macatangay, deputy city director for operations of the CCPO, said no untoward incident was recorded since the activity started.
The Cebu City Transportation Office directed traffic in the area.
“We have personnel who roam around to constantly remind the attendees to secure their belongings,” said Macatangay.
