Maranan tapped to head PRO-7


CEBU CITY – Police Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan, Central Luzon police chief, has been reassigned to head the Police Regional Office-Central Visayas (PRO-7) based in Camp Sergio Osmena Sr. here.

He replaced Police Brig. Gen. Anthony Aberin who was appointed to head the National Capital Region Police Office based in Camp Bagong Diwa in Taguig City last year.

Police Brig. Gen. Roy Parena was named PRO-7 officer-in-charge after Aberin was transferred. 

Police Brig. Gen. Dionisio Bartolome succeeded Parena as PRO-7 OIC and served for more than a month before Maranan was tapped to head the Central Visayas police.

The PRO-7 has yet to announce the date of the turnover of command for Maranan.

The appointment of Maranan, a member of the Philippine National Police Academy Class of 1995, was signed on Jan. 9 by Police Major Gen. Edgar Okubo, PNP chief of Directorial Staff.

Police Brig. Gen. Jean Fajardo, Philippine National Police spokesperson, replaced Maranan at Police Regional Office-3 based in San Fernando City, Pampanga.
