Traslacion in Cagayan de Oro City generally peaceful – PRO 10


CAMP ALAGAR, Cagayan de Oro City – The Police Regional Office-10 said on Friday, Jan. 10, that the Traslacion during the Feast of the Black Nazarene in this city on Thursday, Jan. 9, was generally peaceful.

“No untoward incidents reported within the region, particularly in this region’s capital city of Cagayan de Oro,” said PRO 10-Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Joann N. Navarro. “Thank God everything is okay through God’s care,” she added.

Navarro said 1,306 PRO-10 personnel were deployed during the Traslacion – 651 from the Cagayan de Oro City Police Office and 655 from the Iligan City Police Office. Both cities deployed 478 force multipliers to bolster security.

Close to 14,000 devotees from Northern Mindanao and neighboring areas participated in the Traslacion here while 800 devotees attended in Iligan City.

PRO-10 Director Police Brig. Gen. Jaysen C. de Guzman thanked devotees for two peaceful processions.

“I extend my heartfelt gratitude to all the devotees, participants, and members of the community who made the Traslacion of Black Nazarene 2025 in Northern Mindanao a success.”

“Your cooperation, discipline, and commitment to maintaining peace and order played a significant role in ensuring the safety of everyone involved. May the Black Nazarene continue to guide and bless us all with strength, peace, and prosperity,” he added.

De Guzman said he is satisfied with the implementation of security measures and coordination of law enforcement agencies, local authorities, and the community to ensure the safety of devotees.

He also thanked the Army 4th Infantry (Diamond) Division and other law enforcement agencies for helping secure the Traslacion.
