PRO-10 activates security center for May elections


BUTUAN CITY – Authorities reactivated on Wednesday the Regional Joint Security and Control Center in Northern Mindanao for the May elections.

The revival of the RJSCC aims to ensure that the elections are conducted in a free, secure, orderly, honest and credible manner, Police Regional Office-10 Regional Public Information Office chief Police Major Joann G. Navarro said.

Police Brig. Gen. Jaysen de Guzman, PRO-10 chief, said they are ready to maintain safety and security throughout the election period.

“PRO-10, in partnership with our counterparts in the Armed Forces and Philippine Coast Guard, will remain steadfast in its mission to ensure a free, orderly, honest, peaceful and credible elections in Northern Mindanao,” De Guzman said.

Commission on Elections-10 Regional Director Renato A. Magbutay presided over the ceremony at the PRO-10 headquarters here attended by deputized agencies and led a conference that discussed key election security concerns.

The reactivation of the RJSCC is in accordance with Section 7 of Comelec Resolution No. 11067 promulgated on Sept. 25, 2024.

Navaro said aside from the RJSCC, the Regional Election Monitoring Action Center based in Camp Alagar here was also reactivated.
