CAMP OLIVAS, City of San Fernando, Pampanga – The Police Regional Office-3 (Central Luzon) has deployed 1,200 police officers to help secure the Traslacion during the Feast of the Black Nazarene in Manila on Thursday, Jan. 9.
They are positioned at the Quirino Grandstand for the traditional Pahalik and various entry and exit points in Metro Manila, said PRO-3 chief Police Brig. Gen. Redrico Maranan.
POLICE Regional Office-3 lawmen are helping secure the Traslacion in Manila.
“The purpose of this deployment is to ensure the safety, security, and peace of all participants in the activity," Maranan said.
"The PRO-3 is ready to assist the NCRPO in ensuring the order and safety of the Feast of the Black Nazarene. Our unity and active coordination are key in making this celebration smooth and safe," he added.
Maranan said there is no serious threat to the festival but assured they are ready for any eventuality.
"Our mandate is not only to ensure peace but also to build public confidence in the capabilities of our police in this important event," Maranan said.
Maranan encouraged devotees to cooperate with security measures to ensure a successful Traslacion.
