The Land Transportation Office (LTO) collected P32 billion in revenues in 2024, which is 8.8 percent higher compared to the collection in 2023.
LTO chief Assistant Secretary Vigor D. Mendoza II attributed the increase in the revenue collection to the implementation of necessary reforms and the hard work and cooperation of all its personnel, particularly those in the frontlines.
Based on the LTO data, a total of P32,271,213,444.69 were collected by the agency from January to December in 2024 compared to the revenue collection in 2023 which was P29 661,161,162.07.
“Despite some serious challenges, we are still able to increase the revenue collection. And I commend all of our personnel for their dedication to their job,” said Mendoza.
Last year, several policy reforms were instituted to increase the revenue collection of the national government through the LTO, one of them was the outreach program where LTO on Wheels were deployed.
Mendoza said the LTO on Wheels paved the way for the convenient and faster services to the clients, particularly in far-flung areas.
“We intend to expand this LTO on Wheels program because of the positive feedback we have been receiving since this project was started,” said Mendoza.
For 2025, Asec Mendoza expressed optimism that the LTO could do more, especially that all the serious challenges that the agency faced were already resolved before 2024 ended.
“We assure the Filipino people to do more this year in terms of service improvement and ensuring the safety of all road users through aggressive operations and enforcement of traffic rules and regulations,” said Mendoza.
