In November 2024, the Diplomatic and Consular Corps of Monaco from around the globe gathered in the Principality to celebrate the National Day of Monaco, also known as the Day of the Prince. This annual occasion honors the enduring legacy of the Grimaldi family, whose reign has shaped the identity and heritage of Monaco since 1297.
Representing the Philippines was our Consul General of The Principality of Monaco, Fortune Aleta-Ledesma who had the privilege of reconnecting with His Serene Highness Sovereign Prince Albert II of Monaco during a distinguished cocktail reception at the prestigious Yacht Club de Monaco. Dressed elegantly in a terno specially curated by Kultura, she proudly showcased the artistry and cultural heritage of the Philippines on the international stage.
Her son, Monaco Consul Rene Aleta Ledesma, Jr., joined her as they participated in a series of grand events presided over by HSH Prince Albert II and members of the Princely family. The celebrations included a solemn Mass and Te Deum at the iconic Cathedral of Monaco, a vibrant military parade at the Place du Palais, and an exclusive gala performance of Puccini’s La Bohème at the Grimaldi Forum, attended by Monaco’s elite and international dignitaries.
This year’s National Day of Monaco not only underscored the Principality's rich traditions but also highlighted the meaningful connections fostered by Monaco’s global diplomatic community. Consul General Ledesma’s presence reinforced the bond between the Philippines and Monaco, bridging cultures through shared values and a celebration of heritage.
