Fishpond caretaker shot dead by NPA surrenderer in Isabela


SANTIAGO CITY, Isabela – A fishpond caretaker was allegedly shot dead by a former communist rebel in Barangay Abra here on Friday night, September 6.

Police Capt. Jeffrey Viloria, deputy chief of the Santiago City Police Station 2, identified the victim as Joseph Domingo, a resident of Cordon, Isabela, and fishpond caretaker in Barangay Ambalatungan, this city.

Viloria said the suspect, Rolando Galicia, who claimed to be a New People’s Army surrenderer from Gamu, Isabela, was arrested in a follow-up operation.

Galicia admitted killing the victim for being a bad person.

Domingo died from a bullet wound in the body,

Recovered from the suspect was the gun allegedly used in the killing.

Police are investigating the claim of the suspect who faces appropriate cases and detained at the city police custodial facility.
