Pregnant woman dies trying to save mom from electrocution

DIADI, Nueva Vizcaya –  A pregnant woman died after she tried to rescue her mother who was electrocuted in their residence in Barangay Arwas here on Wednesday, September 4.

Police identified the victim as Ella.

Investigation disclosed that the victim’s mother was cleaning the water pump of their makeshift hut when she was electrocuted.

The victim tried to rescue her mother but she was also electrocuted. 

They were taken to the hospital where Ella, who was eight months pregnant, was declared dead. Her baby also died.

Ella's mother is recuperating in the hospital.

Their water pump had not been functioning for three days allegedly due to a wet electric wire.
