'Jealous boyfriend' stabs man in Tondo

A 54-year-old man old man was allegedly attacked and stabbed by a 23-year-old man in Tondo, Manila on Wednesday, September 4.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as John Mark Avelino and the victim as Nestor Urbano, both residents of Tondo.

Police said the victim was having a drinking spree in his house with his friends when the suspect suddenly arrived and stabbed the victim multiple times.

The suspect escaped after committing the crime, while the victim was rushed to the nearest hospital.

Police, who were then patrolling the area, apprehended the suspect after noticing the blood stains on his t-shirt.

The suspect was positively identified by the victim as the same person who attacked him.

Investigators said the suspect told them that he stabbed the suspect out of jealousy.

He said that the victim was allegedly having an affair with his ex-girlfriend.

The arrested suspect will be charged with frustrated murder, police said.
