'That's her prerogative': Marcos clueless why VP Sara had to apologize to KOJC members

With no more communication between them, President Marcos bared that he still does not understand why Vice President Sara Duterte had to apologize to Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) members for asking them to support him in the 2022 polls.

While he could not give any reason why his former runningmate did that, he nevertheless understood that it was her prerogative.

"That's her prerogative. I still don't understand why. That is her wish, wala tayong magagawa (we cannot do anything about it)," Marcos said in an interview during an aerial inspection over Typhoon Enteng-hit areas on Wednesday, Sept. 4.

The President also revealed that they have not spoken to each other since the Vice President handed her resignation as Department of Education (DepEd) secretary in June.

"No, none at all. None at all. The last time I spoke to her was when she handed me her resignation. We haven't spoken since," Marcos said.

It has nothing to do with politics

Marcos also made a statement on Duterte's accusation that the Senate was politicizing the budget hearing for her office.

He stressed that the budget hearing was a "well-established process" which every government agency goes through every year.

"This is a budget hearing...This is something that every single government agency has to do. It's a hearing, there's no politics in it," he said.

"We do it every year, we do it with the same department, we do it...That process is well established, it has nothing to do with politics," he added.

"It has to do with the budget so I don't know how can she characterize these things, which is essentially an information gathering exercise for the House and for the Senate, so that they know what the budget will look like. So malayo sa politika yun (That is far from politics)," the President further said.
