Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang, the newly installed Southern Police District (SPD) director, encouraged all the police chiefs under his jurisdiction to do their job well and be regarded as the most friendly and most loved in their communities to achieve his dream of making the SPD the best police district in the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO).

Yng said he aims to gather the most number of citations from regional and civic institutions recognizing the value and noble efforts of policemen in making SPD among the best and the finest police force.

The newly installed SPD chief  urged all the police chiefs in Las Piñas, Parañaque, Pasay, Makati, Muntinlupa, Taguig and Pateros to be ready day and night, particularly in high crime areas through police presence.

Yang said that he is also planning to create internal communications group to monitor the flow of work from police stations to the district office up to the regional headquarters and from one division to another to ensure immediate response.

“We must communicate fast, efficiently, and effectively, “ Yang said.

The newly installed district director was once the police chief of Pasay City and introduced the SMART policing project after finding out that the current set-up and command of the local police was very traditional and time-consuming, thus defeating the purpose of fast and efficient response to the needs of the community for police assistance.

Yang also wants the SPD to have connectivity with all other police stations to ensure immediate response to any crime situation.
