Yang assumes post as new SPD chief


Brig. Gen. Bernard Yang took over the position as the new chief of the Southern Police District (SPD) on Sept. 30. 

Major Gen. Jose Melencio Nartatez Jr., regional director of the National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO), witnessed the turnover ceremony from outgoing SPD chief Brig. Gen. Leon Victor Rosete to Yang at the SPD headquarters.

The ceremony was attended by other NCRPO officers, SPD Command Group, chiefs of police of units under the SPD, district directors from Northern Police District, Eastern Police District, and Manila Police District. 

Rosete will now assume the post of acting regional director of Police Regional Office 11 in Davao City. 

SPD supervises the cities of Muntinlupa, Taguig, Las Pinas, Paranaque, Pasay and Makati, and the municipality of Pateros.
