Property giant Megaworld Corp. has appointed Kevin L. Tan as its new executive director, succeeding his mother, Katherine Tan, who stepped down on Monday, Oct. 7.
Tan, 45, brings a wealth of experience from his previous roles in the company, including executive vice president and chief strategy officer.
He also served as senior vice president for the commercial division, overseeing the operations of Megaworld Lifestyle Malls.
In addition to his new role at Megaworld, Tan is vice-chairman, president, and CEO of Alliance Global Group, Inc., the family-run holding company founded by his father, Andrew Tan.
He also holds positions as director, president, and CEO of MREIT, Inc., and chairs the Board of Directors for Travellers International Hotel Group, Inc.
Furthermore, he serves as a director for other publicly listed companies, including Empire East Land Holdings, Inc. and Emperador Inc.
Tan earned his Bachelor’s Degree in Business Administration with a major in Management from the University of Asia and the Pacific.
In the first semester of the year, Megaworld posted an 11 percent increase in net income to P9.81 billion, with consolidated revenues expanding by 22 percent, driven by strong performance across its business segments.
