PNP names Marallag as new PRO-2 chief


CAMP MARCELO A. ADDURU, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan – The Philippine National Police has named Police Brig. Gen. Antonio P. Marallag Jr. as the new Police Regional Office-2 (Cagayan Valley) director.

POLICE Lt. Gen.  Michael John F. Dubria, the officer-in-charge of the office of the PNP deputy chief for administration and the acting PNP deputy chief for operations, presides over the turnover ceremony between incoming Police Regional Office-2 chief Police Brig. Gen.  Antonio P. Marallag Jr. and outgoing head Police Brig. Gen. Christopher C. Birung in Camp Adduru, Tuguegarao City, Cagayan on Friday, September 27.

Marallag replaced Police Brig. Gen. Christopher C. Birung who was appointed to head the Philippine National Police Academy in Silang, Cavite.

Police Lt. Gen. Michael John F. Dubria, officer-in-charge of the office of the PNP deputy chief for administration and the acting PNP deputy chief for operations, led the turnover of command ceremony on Friday, September 27, here.

Marallag, a member of the Philippine National PNPA Sandigan Class of 1994, is from this city.

He served the Cagayan Valley region from 2001 to 2017 and was assigned to the Police Regional Office-1 (Ilocos region) before his appointment.

In his first command conference, Marallag sought the support of the officers and men under his command in the campaign against all forms of criminality and insurgency in Cagayan Valley. 

Marallag ensured the strict implementation of the campaign against the eight focus crimes and illegal drugs amid the forthcoming conduct of the 2025 elections.
