Malacañang issued Proclamation No. 699, signed by Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, on Oct. 2.

With this, the Philippine Sports Commission (PSC) is directed to lead, coordinate, and supervise the observance of the Moving Forward Paddling Week Philippines, and identify related programs, activities, and projects.

According to the proclamation, paddling forward symbolizes "unity and strength in navigating challenges towards achieving progress as a Filipino nation."

It likewise embodies personal growth and development by constantly striving to push limits, overcome setbacks, and demonstrate resilience and dedication toward excellence.

All national government agencies, including government-owned or -controlled corporations (GOCCs), and state universities and colleges, were also directed to actively participate and support the PSC in implementing Proclamation No. 699.

Meanwhile, local government units (LGUs), non-government organizations (NGOs), professional associations, and the private sector were encouraged to support the sports body similarly.
