The Embassy of Malaysia in Manila and the Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industries Philippines, Inc. (MCCI), a non-profit organization and the first ASEAN member to have a business chamber in the Philippines, jointly organized the Maybank – Malaysia Friendship Open 2024 which will be held on Oct. 12, 2024 at the Pradera Verde Golf & Country Club.

This annual event has become a hallmark of diplomatic and professional engagement, aimed at strengthening collaborative relationships, revitalizing connections, and promoting a positive environment among stakeholders from both nations. As Malaysia and the Philippines celebrate the 60th anniversary of diplomatic relations, this gathering presents a valuable opportunity to enhance connections and participate in constructive discussions in a pleasant and enjoyable atmosphere.

The tournament will see the participation of around 216 golfers from Malaysia and the Philippines, including prominent business leaders, members of the diplomatic community, government officials from both countries, and golfers from Malaysia, the Philippines, and the international community. All proceeds will be directed entirely to charity, with part of the contribution going to two schools in Pampanga and a school in Bulacan.

The Embassy of Malaysia in Manila extends its sincere gratitude to the 54 esteemed sponsors whose support is vital to the success of this year’s event, hoping that this tournament will become an effective platform for linking Filipino and Malaysian businesses as well as the international community, paving the way for enhanced cooperation across various sectors, and cultivating lasting relationships that will benefit both Malaysia and the Philippines.
