Lawmen net P5.8-M shabu in Pangasinan


CAMP FLORENDO, La Union – Police, backed up by the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency, seized P5.8-million worth of shabu from a high-value individual during the implementation of a search warrant in Bayambang, Pangasinan on Friday, September 27.

Police Brig. Gen. Lou F. Evangelista, Police Regional Office-1 director, said the 47-year-old suspect yielded 860 grams of shabu with a standard drug price of P5.8 million in a large transparent plastic bag along with other non-drug evidence.

Evangelista commended operating units for a successful operation.

"The successful arrest of a high-value target and the seizure of a substantial amount of shabu demonstrate our commitment eradicating drug trade in our beloved region. We will continue to employ all available resources and strategies to dismantle drug syndicates and ensure a safer, drug-free community for all,” said Evangelista.

The suspect faces a case for violating Republic Act No. 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
