House Speaker Martin Romualdez trumpeted on Thursday, Sept. 26 the official formation of the administration-backed Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas, and its announcement of its 12-person Senate slate for the 2025 mid-term polls.

In his speech at the event, Romualdez said the administration coalition was "built on a solid foundation of service to the people".

"We are united by a shared purpose: to uplift the lives of every Filipino, to create a future where our country thrives, and to ensure that no one is left behind," said the Lakas-Christian Muslim Democrats (Lakas-CMD) president.

“When we look back at the challenges our nation has faced, it becomes clear why unity is crucial. Each of our parties - whether it be Partido Federal ng Pilipinas (PFP), Lakas-CMD, the Nationalist People’s Coalition (NCP), the Nacionalista Party (NP), or the National Unity Party (NUP)--represents different perspectives, histories, and stories,” he said.

“But today, we come together, not as separate groups, but as one force for the people. We stand united because we know that in our unity, we find the power to turn dreams into reality,” he added.

The House leader noted that Alyansa members are “at a pivotal juncture” as the nation approaches the May 12, 2025 combined congressional-local elections. “The decisions we make today and in the months to come will shape the direction of our nation for years to come."

“It is essential that we stand firm in our resolve to support the programs and legislative agenda of the Marcos administration. These initiatives have laid the foundation for economic recovery, poverty alleviation, and national security,” he stressed.

During the event, President Marcos bared the powerhouse senatorial ticket of the Alyansa for May 2025 elections, including Interior Secretary Benhur Abalos, Jr., Makati Mayor Abby Binay, Senator Pia Cayetano, former senator Panfilo Lacson, Senator Lito Lapid, Senator Imee Marcos, former senator Manny Pacquiao, Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla, Jr., former senator Vicente Sotto III, ACT-CIS Rep. Erwin Tulfo, Senator Francis Tolentino, and Las Piñas City lone district Rep. Camille Villar.

Romualdez said he was confident that the candidates the coalition would support “will continue to embody the principles of integrity, accountability, and public service…values (that) will drive us forward as we serve the Filipino people".

“As we sign the Manifesto of the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas today, let it serve as a reminder of the responsibilities we carry. We are called to be champions of good governance, promoters of peace, and advocates of inclusive development,” said the Speaker.

He emphasized that they have the “noble duty of ensuring that the May 2025 elections reflect the true will of the people, conducted with honesty, orderliness, and transparency.”

“In closing, let us pledge to work together as one. Let us remain steadfast in our commitment to our nation and our people,” he said.

“Together, we will build a stronger, more resilient, and united Philippines—a nation where every Filipino can prosper, live in peace, and look to the future with hope and confidence,” Romualdez said.
