According to a social media post, it is part of the Friday Habit for Salary increase campaign and to show the educators’ support for the Alliance of Concerned Teachers (ACT).

Teachers all over the country had been participating in the said activity.

The ACT will also conduct a unity walk for salary increase on October 4 in celebration of World Teacher’s day.

ACT NCR Union President Ruby Bernardo said they will launch a massive campaign for salary increase, higher budget to education, for the scrapping of the MATATAG curriculum, improved working conditions, and to mobilize more than 500 teachers and education workers in the region on World Teachers' Day.

“We will urge our lawmakers to legislate a law granting substantial salary increase for teachers and government employees and supplant EO 64's meager offer, and allot education budget equivalent to at least 6 percent of the GDP to address the worsening education crisis,” she said.
