Sen. Ramon "Bong" Revilla has one wish on his birthday: unity among countrymen.

"My personal wish sana ay magkasundo na ang lahat. Wala ng away-away at magkaisa tayo para sa bayan," said Bong when asked about his personal birthday wish on Sept. 25, during a bloodletting event in Quezon City recently.

Quezon City Mayor Joy Belmonte, who was present at the event, also shared her birthday wish for the senator.

"Sana maipagpatuloy pa ni senator ang kanyang paglilingkod sa mga mamamayan at buong Pilipinas. Napakahusay po niyang maglingkod hindi lang sa mga proyekto na nasa grassroots kundi pati na rin sa mga batas niya kung saan lahat nakikinabang lalo na yung mga seniors, guro at mag-aaral," Mayor Joy said.

Bong also confirmed Season 3 for the GMA action-comedy series "Walang Matigas Na Pulis sa Matinik na Misis."

"December na ang airing niya at magte-taping na ako sa October. Medyo okay na ako at nakakalakad na ako ng direcho. Nakakapag-jogging na ako. So 'yung Achilles tendon ko is healing well. Naalala mo mayor noong huling punta ko rito naka-baston pa ako. Thank God at salamat sa lahat ng nagdasal sa para sa aking speedy recovery. Napaka-importante ng paa. Kapag isa lang ang paa mo, my God! Ang hirap," the senator said.

Bong added: "Maraming sorpresa ang ihahatid natin sa susunod na presscon ng GMA."

The actor-politician also confirmed that his upcoming movie "Alyas Pogi" will not be entered in the 2024 Metro Manila Film Festival. "Tuloy pa rin yun pero hindi na aabot for this year. Next year siguro."

Asked if Sparkle artist Sandro Muhlach would be part of the "Walang Matigas" series, Bong answered: "Why not!"

Last Sept. 18, Bong led a bloodletting program in Quezon City dubbed "Dugong Alay, Pandugtong Buhay" in line with his 58th birthday celebration.

Hundreds of people lined up at Amoranto Sports Complex in Quezon City to donate blood to support the program. 

During the event, Revilla thanked all participants, including partners, volunteers, and especially the donors. 

“Taos-puso po akong nagpapasalamat sa inyong lahat na patuloy na sumusuporta sa ating makabuluhang gawain ngayong araw – ang Dugong Alay Pandugtong Buhay Bloodletting Program! Ipinagmamalaki ko pong hanggang sa taong ito, ka-partner pa rin natin ang Dugong Alay, Dugtong Buhay, Inc. na sinimulan ng aking namayapang kaibigan na si Nap Marilag,” Revilla said.

Commencing during his term as Governor of Cavite in the late 1990s, the project was able to help not only Caviteños but also thousands of Filipinos who greatly need blood supply for medical purposes, especially those who are having a hard time sourcing donors. It also helped known personalities such as Dolphy, Vina Morales, TJ Cruz, Ogie Diaz, Francis Magalona, Jennifer Lee, and Winnie Cordero. 

“Itong proyekto na ito ay taunan kong pinangungunahan simula pa noong ako ay Gobernador pa lang. Sa pamamagitan nito, nakakapaghatid tayo ng malaking tulong sa mga kababayan nating nangangailangan ng dugo, lalo na doon sa may mga sakit na di agad makahanap ng donors para sa kanilang pangangailangan,” he said. 

Many expressed their support to be blood donors, especially men and women in uniform: Philippine National Police, Bureau of Jail Management and Penology, Armed Forces of the Philippines, Philippine Air Force, Philippine Navy, Philippine Marines, Philippine Air Force, and Bureau of Fire Protection. Revilla also partnered with several socio-civic organizations and groups such as the Agimat Riders and Alpha Phi Omega Fraternity. 

This year, Revilla tapped Chinese General Hospital and Medical Center and Lung Center of the Philippines as the program’s partner hospitals.
