Based on the police report, the victim, whose identity was not disclosed by the police, was cruising along the West Bank Road in Barangay San Andres when he stopped as if he was waiting for someone.

He was then approached by the gunman who shot him three times -- one on his head and two on his chest, instantly killing him.

During the course of the investigation, the police found out that the victim had been receiving death threats.

"Prior ng incident na 'yan talaga, yung si biktima, nakareceive din ng death threat na sya ay papatayin (Prior to this incident, the victim had already received a threat. Somebody was out to kill him)," Lt. Col. Joseph Macatangay of the Cainta Municipal Police Station said.

Macatangay added that the rider was previously arrested for illegal drugs and was only released due to a plea bargaining agreement.

The police are now looking at illegal drugs as the main reason for the victim's killing, adding that the shooter could be among his "circle of friends."

A backtracking operation is being conducted to determine the location of the suspect as there are no CCTVs at the scene of the crime.
