The Las Piñas City Health Office (CHO) launched its school-based immunization program which aims to vaccinate school-aged children against human papillomavirus (HPV) and measles, rubella, tetanus, and diphtheria (MR-TD).

The immunization program, which is part of the city government's public health efforts, was first conducted at the CAA Elementary School Main.

CHO head Dr. Juliana Gonzalez, who personally supervised the first day of the immunization program, said around 300 students were given HPV vaccines.

Gonzalez said the immunization program highlights Mayor Imelda Aguilar’s commitment to safeguarding the health of the city's younger population.

She said the event at the CAA Elementary School Main marked the beginning of a series of school-based immunization efforts across the city to ensure that children receive the necessary vaccines to protect them from preventable diseases.
