Recraft opens a new chapter with its latest home

New location blends elements of its past and present

After closing its New Manila location earlier this year, ReCraft has reopened at 39 Scout Tobias, Quezon City. The brand has transformed a 1960s-era house to reflect its signature style. The menu has also been updated, offering new versions of their signature mixes alongside popular bestsellers.

"ReCraft is a very nice place. You could put it anywhere and it would be nice anywhere—New York, Seoul, Singapore...What we want is for Filipinos to not need to travel to other countries like Hongkong or Japan to experience something different and be awed. You can get it right here, just a jeepney away in Tomas Morato, and get the same level of great drinks and food, but with the renowned Filipino hospitality." said beverage director Cedric Mendoza, who pushes ReCraft to meet the world's highest standards. His goal is to bring to Filipinos a high-concept bar experience.

New meets old
ReCraft’s bestsellers have received upgrades at its new location. New versions of the previous menu are offered alongside the originals. The curry-infused Vermouth, pandan, and ginger beer blend of New Manila now has a counterpart in Old Manila, which mixes whisky with pandan and curry. Grow in the Dark, a blend of scotch, whisky, passionfruit, mint, chili, lemon, and soda water, is joined by Bask in the Light, which combines mezcal, vodka, passionfruit, basil, lemon, and seltzer. Other “different but same-same” pairings likely to become favorites include Bikini Top and Bikini Bottom, as well as Lolita’s Dream and Dolores Haze.

“We want people to feel the ‘familiar unfamiliar.’ It’s like seeing a dear old friend and you know something’s different about them, but at the same time, it’s still the same person you used to love.” said founder and creative director Lester Fuentes.
