Cordillera cops net P3.9-M marijuana, shabu in 2 days


CAMP DANGWA, Benguet – Police seized shabu and marijuana worth a total of P3.9 million and caught three suspected drug pushers in anti-illegal drug operations in the provinces of Kalinga, Benguet, and Apayao, and Baguio City from September 19 to 20.

In Kalinga, a marijuana eradication operation was conducted and 14,250 fully grown marijuana plants valued at P2.8 million planted in a 950-square meter land in Barangays Buscalan and Bugnay in the municipality of Tinglayan were discovered.

In Benguet, a similar operation resulted in the discovery of 4,760 FGMJPs worth P952,000 in three plantations in Barangay Kayapa in Bakun, Barangay Sagubo in Kapangan, and Barangay Tacadang in Kibungan.

A 42-year-old man considered a high-value individual in the illegal drugs trade was nabbed during a search warrant operation in Barangay Swan, Pudtol, Kalinga. Recovered from him were one gram of suspected shabu valued at P6,800 and drug paraphernalia.

A 48-year-old woman, identified as a street-level individual, was apprehended in Barangay Marcoville, Baguio City, in a buy-bust operation. She yielded two plastic sachets of suspected shabu weighing 10 grams worth P68,000.

A 40-year-old man, also an SLI, was nabbed in Barangay Padre Zamora, Baguio City in a buy-bust operation. Recovered from him was one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu weighing 3.45 grams valued at P23,460.

Lucena City

Police seized suspected shabu valued at P1.1 million from a drug pusher in a buy-bust operation in  Purok Maulawin, Barangay Isabang, Lucena City, Quezon on Friday afternoon, September 20.

The suspect was identified as Ali, 27, a high-value individual. Ali yielded 58 grams of shabu valued at P1.1 million.

The contraband was taken to the Quezon Provincial Forensic Unit for laboratory examination.

Ali was taken to the Lucena City Police Station and faces drug-related cases.
