Ambassador Brühl began his address by warmly welcoming the distinguished guests, including diplomats, dignitaries, and key partners of the Swiss Embassy. He expressed heartfelt gratitude to the choir of the A.J. Kalinga Foundation for their moving performance. The foundation, a significant partner of the Swiss Embassy, is dedicated to restoring dignity and hope by empowering the homeless and supporting the families of victims affected by the war on drugs. Ambassador Brühl commended their compassionate and holistic approach, noting their vital role in rebuilding lives and fostering a sense of community within the Philippines.

He expressed his appreciation to Enderun Colleges, specifically Chef Thomas Wenger and his team, for preparing the Swiss culinary delights that guests eagerly anticipated. He also extended thanks to the Swiss Embassy staff for their efforts in organizing the unforgettable event.

The Ambassador provided a historical overview, recalling the pivotal moment in 1291 when the three cantons—Uri, Schwyz, and Unterwalden—formed the Swiss Confederation. He emphasized that Switzerland’s identity is deeply rooted in the collective will of its people and is uniquely characterized by its four official language regions: German, French, Italian, and Romansh. This linguistic diversity, he noted, is a testament to Switzerland’s commitment to unity and mutual understanding across its varied communities.

In his address, Ambassador Brühl highlighted the shared vision of peace, prosperity, and progress that unites Switzerland and the Philippines, despite their differences in geography, culture, and history. He underscored the importance of diplomatic initiatives between the two nations, including economic exchanges facilitated by their free trade agreement and the establishment of the newly formed Swiss-Philippine Chamber of Commerce. These collaborations, he remarked, not only enhance development but also strengthen the relationship between the two countries.

He reaffirmed Switzerland’s commitment to fostering peace and stability in the region, which reflects the country’s broader dedication to promoting democratic values and justice. Ambassador Brühl also mentioned Switzerland’s involvement in the UN Joint Programme on Human Rights, which further underscores the nation's support for human rights initiatives in the Philippines.
