“Kuha sa Tingi” program is an initiative spearheaded by Greenpeace Philippines and the Metro Manila Mayors’ Spouses Foundation (MMMSF) with the aim to minimize the country's single-use plastic waste consumption such as “tingi” sachets.

The 10 qualified Valenzuelano livelihood group leaders from different barangays received free dispensers of dishwashing liquid, multi-surface cleaner, liquid detergent, and fabric softener.

The items will serve as their capital investment while raising awareness on the harmful ecological effects of single-use plastics.

Buyers are required to bring their recyclable plastic containers to buy in tingi.

Valenzuela is the fourth city in Metro Manila to participate in the advocacy following San Juan City, Quezon City, and Pasig City.
