Spearheaded by Makati Disaster Risk Reduction and Management (DRRM), in partnership with the Civil Defense NCR, the EOC training aims to educate and equip participants with the essential knowledge and skills necessary for the effective operationalization and management of the EOC.

The EOC is a 24/7 self-sufficient operations hub geared towards training for disaster preparedness and the coordination of relief and response efforts during major disasters.

Using advanced communications software and technology, the hub monitors climate-related and natural hazards in close coordination with deployed resources in the field. The EOC also provides and coordinates warnings, disaster evacuation, asset inventory, and emergency services integration.

"This training is a crucial part of the city’s efforts to enhance and upgrade the EOC, ensuring strengthened communication, coordination, and reporting systems during disasters. The EOC plays a vital role in efficient and effective incident management and response, and we are grateful for the commitment shown by our response agencies in this endeavor," the DRRM said.

At present, a total of 154 personnel in Makati are EOC-trained, showing the city's commitment to providing quality response service to Makatizens.
