A total of P47.94 billion worth of illegal drugs, laboratory equipment and controlled precursors and essential chemicals (CPEC) were seized so far under the administration of President Marcos, the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) reported on Thursday, Sept. 19.

In its latest "The Numbers of the National Anti-Drug Campaign" report,  the PDEA said that 6,231.13 kilograms (kgs) of shabu, 74.72 kgs of cocaine, 5,398.35 kgs of marijuana and 109,169 pieces of ecstasy were confiscated from July 1, 2022 to August 31, 2024.

The PDEA report also indicated that 7,050 high-value targets (HVT) were arrested in 81,679 anti-drug operations conducted by the various government anti-narcotics authorities in the country.

During the same period, government authorities dismantled 1,137 drug dens and one clandestine laboratory.

With the administration’s revitalized anti-illegal drug campaign, the PDEA noted that 29,032 barangays are now drug-cleared as only 6,484 barangays remain drug affected.

A drug-cleared barangay refers to a village that was previously classified as drug-affected and underwent a barangay drug clearing program. Their status as "cleared" will be declared by the Regional Oversight Committee on Barangay Drug Clearing (ROCBDC).

The PDEA report also disclosed that a total of 110,814 drug personalities were nabbed during the said period.
