Renowned sports car maker, Lotus, wants owners to bring more companions along for the ride with its new luxury four-door GT, the Emeya. The Emeya expands the brand’s line-up of thrilling electric vehicles being a sporty dour-door, four-seater. It joins the Eletre SUV as the second four-door in the model range.

High-performance EV

Despite being a four-door, four-seater, it is no slouch. The vehicle produces an astounding 905 bhp, enabling Emeya to accelerate from 0-100 km/h in under 2.8 seconds and 0-200 km/h in 9 seconds. It’s powered by an all-electric powertrain with a large battery capable of delivering 610-km of range on a single charge. All this is made even more convenient with the Emeya’s fast charging capabilities. It can charging from 10 to 80% in 14 minutes, using a 400-kW (600A capable) DC fast charger, making it one of the fastest charging electric vehicles (EVs) available today.

True to Lotus’s sports car DNA, the Emeya has been designed to light in order to offer dynamic handling, despite being an electric vehicle. It uses lightweight carbon ceramic brakes to reduce unsprung weight and braking distance. Crafted carbon fiber exterior elements nod to the brand’s racing heritage while also reducing weight.

Allowing the vehicle to perform as dynamically as it looks are several cutting-edge technologies. Its advanced twin-layer battery has been designed with cooling attributes to deliver even greater repeatability and sustainability of performance — even under extreme driving conditions such as on a track. Active aerodynamic include an active front grille, rear diffuser, and rear spoiler that tailor the driving experience to the environment, capable of returning a drag coefficient of 0.21Cd, or downforce of over 150kg. Up to five driving modes including Range, Tour, Sport, Individual, and Track allow drivers to adjust the vehicle’s performance. Drivers can also control the ride height, air suspension stiffness, acceleration response, seat configuration (with adjustable side bolsters), and more, to optimize efficiency, performance, and comfort in any environment. An electronically controlled air suspension system with advanced onboard sensors responds to changes in road conditions and automatically adjusts the vehicle set-up. This ensures the smoothest ride and optimum driving experience for customers.

Comfortable tourer

When driven daily, the Emeya also rewards. It comes with a spacious trunk with a capacity of up to 509 liters. There is also a frunk (front trunk) with a capacity of 31 liters. Power-assisted doors make entering the vehicle effortless. Sensors can also detect obstacles ensuring a door will not open if the vehicle is at risk of damage. In addition, a kick sensor on the tailgate enables customers to easily open the boot, even when their hands are full.

Other passengers will enjoy its intelligent panoramic glass roof switches between opaque and clear at just the press of a button. There’s also an to turn individual sections of the roof opaque, blocking out direct sunlight while keeping the rest of the roof transparent. The ambient lighting functions integrate with the vehicle’s connectivity, like an incoming phone call that pulses elements of the dashboard to notify the driver. When charging, the ambient lighting on the floating dashboard will change to green. The seats have five massage modes at three different intensity levels, ensuring all occupants have a relaxing ride, no matter where passengers are seated.

For entertainment, the Emeya comes with a state-of-the-art 15.1-inch HD OLED Lotus HyperOS infotainment system. It features an interactive 3D display of Emeya to access its numerous functions. This is powered by Unreal Engine gaming technology. Certain functions, like opening the door can also be done from the touchscreen. An expansive 55-inch head-up display is for the driver, showing important vehicle data without taking their eyes off the road. Entertainment is centered around the in-car audio system from world-renowned Lotus partner KEF. Its award-winning Uni-Q speaker design and Uni-Core space-saving subwoofer enclosure, combined with Dolby Atmos enabled 3D surround sound system, create a truly immersive soundscape.

Lotus has incorporated the latest technology hardware, with its own proprietary software to provide consumers with confidence and safety, every time they drive. This includes two Nvidia Drive Orin systems-on-a-chip (SoCs), which are used to process data from 34 state-of-the-art surround sensors up to 30 times a second, offering 360-degree perception with no blind spots. It has four deployable LiDARs, 18 radars, seven 8-megapixel cameras and five 2-megapixel cameras that scan for obstacles at a radius of up to 200m around the car, in every direction, even in low light or inclement weather. They even reconstruct a virtual environment around the vehicle to define the best trajectory.

The Lotus Emeya is competitively priced in the luxury GT segment and is available in base, S, and R variants starting from P8,000,000.
