The KC46 and Kick2Pedal National Push Bike Race fires off on Sept. 21 at the Quirino Grandstand in Manila.

The event hopes to bolster the growing sport of push biking, which is gaining popularity across the country especially among children aged two to eight years old.

“We believe that biking is a skill in which Filipinos can excel, and we’re committed to making push biking accessible to every child across the nation,” said Cristalle Belo, co-founder for Kick 2 Pedal.

"In today’s digital age, it’s crucial that children develop a love for the outdoors, and push biking is the perfect way to achieve that. It’s a sport that not only promotes physical activity but also brings joy and excitement to both children and their parents."

Push biking, also known as balance biking, is a developmental tool that teaches children skills such as balance, coordination, discipline and focus. It is also unique in such a way that children as young as two to three years old can participate independently, allowing them to experience the thrill of cycling at an age when most are just learning to walk.

"We’re excited to see the smiles on the faces of our young riders and the pride in their parents’ eyes. This event is more than just a race; it’s a celebration of child wellness and development through sport,” Belo said.

Aside from the race, the event promises fun-filled activities for the whole family, either as participants or spectators.

Kick 2 Pedal is a leading advocate for child wellness through sport, focusing on the promotion and development of push biking among Filipino children. Its mission is to build a strong foundation for the sport across the country, ensuring that every child has the opportunity to experience the joys of biking and outdoor play.
