Nasi tumpeng cutting ceremony: A Javanese thanksgiving tradition symbolizing the hope for an increasingly prosperous and elevated life. The yellow rice is shaped like a mountain with a peak, surrounded by seven side dishes representing fertile land. The number seven (pitu in Javanese) signifies pitulungan, meaning assistance or help from Almighty God. The first slice of nasi tumpeng was presented by Ambassador Widjojo to Usec. Charles C. Jose. Joining them are Archbishop Charles John Brown and Mme. Ranny Moerni Cahyani.

Addressing the gathering of esteemed guests, including Philippine government officials, diplomats, and friends of Indonesia, Ambassador Widjojo began by reflecting on the theme of Indonesia’s independence celebration this year: Nusantara Baru, Indonesia Maju, or "New Nusantara, Advanced Indonesia." The theme underscores Indonesia’s forward-looking vision, including the ambitious project of relocating its capital from Jakarta to the newly planned Nusantara City.
