In a statement, DOH said its hospitals are on "standby to receive patient transfers" from the UP-PGH "should there be a need."

DOH said it is aware of the ongoing fire incident at the allied hospital and is allowing fire personnel to address the situation.

"We continue to monitor developments," DOH said.

Meanwhile, DOH Secretary Teodoro J. Herbosa said "all ambulances inbound to the UP-PGH this morning are advised to coordinate for possible diversion to other hospitals, including DOH hospitals, to relieve PGH in the meantime."
