Like a true professional, Adams waited and stayed ready in case he got his name called.

And when he did, he made sure to put the message across – that he’s the right man for the job --  and did not left any room for doubts.

“I just had to stay ready. They told me to stay ready, you never know what can happen. That’s my job as a professional: stay in the gym and be ready for my name to be called,” said Adams who poured 42 points in his return after sitting out the game against NLEX to give way for his supposed replacement Sheldon Mac.

According to SMB head coach Jorge Gallent, the team really wanted to experiment and bring in a versatile import for the Beermen. Bringing back Adams, of course, is part of the plan, in case the experiment does not work out.

Mac had a subpar debut with just 16 points against NLEX.

“When we talked to Jordan about it, we (told him we) just wanted to try a 1-2-3-4 guy. Unfortunately, it backfired,” admitted Gallent. “Sheldon Mac played well against NLEX. But we decided to bring Jordan back.”

Adams, for his part, stressed that there were no feelings hurt in SMB’s decision and he easily brushed it off – a mentality that earned the praise from Gallent.

“Most importantly, we got the win. I just went out there and played hard and tried to get a win for my teammates. You gotta keep winning. That’s all that matters here,” said Adams

“What’s nice about Jordan is he was professional enough to stay with us and play with us again. I’m very happy Jordan stayed and I’m very happy for his game now. It speaks that he is really a great import,” Gallent said.
