WD-40 Company USA through its exclusive marketing distributor HERCO Trading Inc., and its affiliate company Fedchem Manufacturing and Distribution Inc., have recently donated almost P1 million worth of WD-40 Multi Use Product to the Philippine Red Cross, Metropolitan Manila Development Authority and the GMA Kapuso Foundation in support of disaster mitigation and relief efforts. This is a repeat of the same undertaking done in previous years.
According to HERCO Trading Inc. President, Wilfred Co, "WD-40 and our companies uphold the same principle of "helping those who help others." It was an easy choice to tap the local body of an international organization, a key government agency and a private group of individuals brought together by a burning desire to be of service to our fellow Filipinos.
Philippine Red Cross Chairman and Chief Executive Officer Richard Gordon and Secretary General Gwendolyn Pang were present during the turnover ceremony attended by HERCO Trading Inc. President Wilfred Co and Marketing Manager Elite Marcelo. The WD-40 Multi-Use Product donation will be used in the maintenance of PRC's fleet of ambulances, light fire, amphibian, off-road and other rescue vehicles.
Metropolitan Manila Development Authority (MMDA) Acting Chairman, Atty. Romando S. Artes, CPA received the WD-40 Multi-Use Product donation at the MMDA headquarters in Barangay Ugong, Pasig City. The MMDA intends to use WD-40 for its numerous projects including its flood pumping stations and floodgates scattered all over Metro Manila.
Also present during the turnover were USEC Frisco San Juan, Jr., Deputy Chairman; USEC Procopio Lipana, General Manager; ASEC Maria Carolina Salgado, Assistant General Manager for Finance and Administration; and ASEC David Angelo Vargas, Assistant General Manager for Operations.
GMA Kapuso Foundation EVP/COO Ms. Rikki Escudero Catibog, was on hand to receive the WD-40 Multi Use Product donation from HERCO Trading Inc. Executive Vice President Wayne Coherco and Marketing Manager Elite Marcelo. The donation is earmarked for the maintenance of school buildings and bridges that the foundation has constructed nationwide.
