Despite a rise in satisfaction ratings, President Marcos assured the public that his administration would do better as he renewed his vow to improve the lives of the people.

Marcos said after the Social Weather Stations (SWS) survey last July showed that the Chief Executive had a “very good” rating on helping victims of disasters, improving the quality of children’s education, and helping less fortunate individuals.

In a statement, the President said that while they were elated by this validation of their hard work, the government viewed it more as a challenge to do even better.

“Indeed, positive ratings always encourage us, but we remain focused on improving the key metrics that fulfill our promises to the people,” he said on Saturday, Sept. 14.

He added that their efforts are not after increasing their popularity.

“We take the high road in our efforts, not merely to seek popularity, but to render genuine and effective service that improves our people’s lives, strengthens our nation, and secures our future,” Marcos said.

“More than the results of any opinion poll, this is the true reward and reaffirmation we seek,” he added.

The SWS survey, conducted from June 23 to July 1, showed that 62 percent of adult Filipinos are satisfied with the Marcos administration while 22 percent are dissatisfied. It also indicated that 15 percent are undecided.

The survey showed a double-digit increase of +40 in the satisfaction ratings of the Marcos administration across all regions, with the highest in Metro Manila, followed by Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao.

President Marcos’ satisfaction rating was classified as "good," which was a significant improvement from his "moderate" rating in March this year.

The President was also rated "good" on implementing housing programs, developing science and technology, creating policies that will generate job opportunities, ensuring an efficient public transportation system, and ensuring food security.

In addition, his response to problems caused by climate change, defending Philippine sovereignty in the West Philippine Sea, and ensuring that no family will ever go hungry received a "moderate" rating.

A "neutral" rating was recorded for his efforts in fighting crimes that victimize ordinary citizens and ensuring that oil companies do not take advantage of oil prices.

The survey, however, showed that more efforts are required to eradicate graft and corruption in government and fight inflation.
