Man stabs friend to death in Tondo

A man who stabbed his friend to death in Tondo, Manila, surrendered to authorities on Tuesday, September 10.

The Manila Police District (MPD) identified the suspect as Ryan Pablo, 32, a resident of Bagac Street, Barangay 197, Tondo, Manila.

Based on the closed circuit television (CCTV) footage, the victim, identified as Frankie Aguilar, was getting gas at a gasoline station in Tondo on September 7 when the suspect approached him and began chasing the victim.

Pablo stabbed Aguilar multiple times in different parts of his body, causing him to collapse from his injuries and die on-the-spot.

Initial investigation disclosed that the suspect and the victim were friends and neighbors in Barangay 197.

Police said that the suspect went to Alaminos, Laguna to hide from his crime, but he was pressured after receiving several calls and text messages from his relatives in Tondo about the MPD's follow-up operations.

Pablo sought for help from his relative who is a barangay chairman in the town for his surrender.

He was turned over by Alaminos Muncipal Police to the MPD.

Police said the suspect is already detained and will be charged with murder
