REVOLUTIONARY ICON Prince made waves in the music and film industry through his film and the soundtrack named after it, Purple Rain

Although it has been a decade since his passing, Prince continues to be a global icon when it comes to the legacy his music left behind. To this day, Purple Rain remains one of the top-selling albums of all time. As such, the Norwegian Cruise Line has worked effortlessly on creating an immersive tribute to the seven-time Grammy Award-winning artist through “Revolution: A Celebration of Prince” onboard the Norwegian Aqua

Developed in partnership with Prince Legacy LLC and Primary Wave Music, passengers can expect an hour-long concert-like experience as Prince’s hits like “Let’s Go Crazy,” “Little Red Corvette,” “Delirious,” and “Purple Rain.” Taking place in the NCL’s Aqua Theater & Club, the show will feature performances offstage and onstage performances. You can rave it all out to Prince’s tunes on the dance floor alongside the cast or watch from the comfort of your seat.

SAIL OFF TO A BLISSFUL JOURNEY Norwegian Aqua is set to be the 20th ship of Norwegian Cruise Lines

“I’ve always been inspired by Prince and the idea came to me, nearly seven years ago, to create a theatrical concert that would joyfully celebrate his music and exceptional artistry,” shares choreographer and director Patricia Wilcox. “After loving my past collaborations with the team at Norwegian Cruise Line, and seeing the beautiful, multi-purpose theatre aboard Norwegian Aqua, I knew we would be wonderful partners for this collaboration, and I’m honored to bring this show to life alongside the NCL team, Prince Legacy, LLC and Primary Wave Music.”

Another production to look forward to aboard the Norwegian Aqua is “Elements: The World Expanded.” Considered the NCL’s highest-rated guest show after being featured on four of its ships, a reimagined version of the concert is expected to rock the debut of Norwegian Aqua. This new take promises an immersive aspect of the four elements of earth, air, water, and fire, while featuring mesmerizing magic, visual acts of aerial acrobatics, all along with music and dance numbers to captivate audiences.
