The Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) has strengthened its collaboration with the private sector to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of tax administration.

The BIR and the private sector stakeholders signed a memorandum of agreement to establish a formal platform for dialogue and cooperation between the tax agency and various industry groups.

The multi-sectoral partnership will provide a channel for businesses to share their insights, concerns, and recommendations regarding tax policies and regulations.

BIR Commissioner Romeo D. Lumagui Jr. said their partnership would foster a mutually beneficial relationship between the government and the private sector.

“The BIR welcomes both the returning and new members of our multi-sectoral group. The continued involvement of long-standing members, along with the inclusion of new ones, reflects the productive and successful nature of our collaboration with the private sector,” Lumagui stated.

The agreement brings together industry leaders, including the Philippine Chamber of Commerce and Industry and the Tax Management Association of the Philippines. New additions to the group include the Federation of Filipino-Chinese Chambers of Commerce and Industry, Inc., Makati Business Club, and the Alliance of Tech Innovators for the Nation.
