The Series 10 is here. Rumors going back before the Series 9 announcement suggested that Apple might introduce a big overhaul. However, these rumors expressed doubt, speculating that Apple might want to save any big changes for the tenth iteration of the Apple Watch. The Apple Watch Series 9 certainly didn’t change much. And now, here we are, the Apple Watch Series 10! And, it looks just like the Series 9 and every other Apple Watch before it. Why fix something that isn’t broke, eh? I guess.
Okay, I may be exaggerating a bit here. The new Apple Watch Series 10 is slimmer and bigger, at least. Slightly bigger than an Apple Watch Ultra 2, even. Also, it has an OLED screen, which makes it look nicer.
There is improved water resistance and built-in speaker, so if you don’t have your AirPods with you, you can be that guy who plays music or listen to podcasts out in public.
It’s got the typical health features you can expect from a wearable. But beyond that, Apple boasts rapid translation for traveling, smart stacks that updates with what your device think you need, and monitoring for sleep apnea.
You can also get depth meter and water temperature, which Apple says makes the Series 10 perfect for snorkeling. You even get direction while under water, and information on tides for people who wants to go surfing. If you like to go boating, you can use the Series 10 to set a course, and you can monitor it to ensure that you’re keeping your course. Okay, those are pretty cool.
I suppose my biggest question with the Apple Watch Series 10 is why did they use the numerical “10” instead of the Roman numeral “X” as seen from the iPhone X? Maybe because another big tech has used the name “Series X?”
Plus Ultra!
Apple also talked about the Apple Watch Ultra. I thought for a moment, there was a new one available. But nah. We just get a new finish for the Ultra, called Satin Black, which looks really good. Apple just wanted to hype it up, just in case people forgot about it. Basically, the Apple Watch Ultra remains to be a top choice for sports enthusiasts since it comes with a slew of features for marathons, swimming, hiking, and the such.
