Bulacan supports Atin Ito WPS mission

The provincial government of Bulacan has expressed it support for the advocacy of the Atin Ito Coalition and lauded the success of the group's civilian-led missions in the West Philippine Sea.

On May 23 of this year, the Sangguniang Panlalawigan (SP) passed a resolution supporting the coalition's initiative to deliver donated goods to Filipino troops guarding the West Philippine Sea.

Resolution No. 459-S’2024, authored and sponsored by SP member Arthur Legaspi, was unanimously approved in a session attended by key provincial officials and representatives from all six districts.

The resolution commended the coalition members for their ability to unite various cause-oriented groups under a common goal.

"We are humbled and honored by this gesture from the Bulacan Provincial Government. This will inspire us to continue our mission, and sustain our resolve as we do our part to assert what rightfully belongs to our country under international law," said Akbayan Party president and Atin Ito co-convenor Rafaela David.

"One of the most significant lessons of these missions for us is that nothing is impossible if we all come together as one people. When we rally behind a shared vision and a common goal, the Filipino people are unstoppable. Thank you to the provincial government of Bulacan. We will carry on," David added.

The resolution also highlighted the coalition's courage and dedication in risking their safety to safeguard the livelihood of Filipino fishermen and uphold the nation's rights within its Exclusive Economic Zone (EEZ).
