3 Chinese nationals arrested for robbery, physical injury in Pasay City

Three Chinese nationals were arrested for robbery and physical abuse of their compatriot on Monday night, August 26, in Pasay City.

 

The Southern Police District (SPD) said the suspects were identified as alias “Shipeng,” 32, alias “You Liang,” 36, and alias “Hai Tao,” 29, all temporary residing in Manila.

 

The SPD said the suspects are now detained at the Pasay police custodial facility after their arrest for robbing and physically abusing the victim, identified as alias “Chenghuan,” 25. 

 

Investigation showed the incident happened at around 8:40 p.m. at a residential building in Barangay 5, Pasay City.

 

The police said the suspects forcibly took P310,000 from Chenghuan through online transactions using Alipay, WeChat Pay, and cryptocurrency tether (USTD).

 

The police said the victim was able to seek assistance from the building security personnel who immediately called for police assistance from the Pasay police substation which resulted in the arrest of the suspects.   

 

The police recovered from the suspects two folded knives and their cellular phones. They were charged with robbery and physical injury.
