English singer Maisy Kay was in the country recently as opening act for American singer Tori Kelly.
We met with her at an intimate press conference held at the Novotel Hotel in Araneta.
According to Maisy, performing her new single "Technicolor Honeymoon", on the Wishbus was among experiences she won't forget.
"It was cool because it was also my first time to perform 'Technicolor Honeymoon,' acoustically and on a radio station, so that's a two firsts for me. It was cool, like, on the actual bus, people were waving, it was a cool experience," Maisy shared.
The singer-songwriter also posed for photos with fans, going on to note how polite they all were.
"It was adorable. It was a brand new experience for me. To have that amount of people recognizing me, wanting to take photos with me," she said.
Maisy also got to try Lengua de Gato.
"I haven't tried any Filipino dish, but when we arrived at the radio station they gave me this food called Lengua de Gato. I had that for the first time and it was very delicious," she said.
Touring with Tori Kelly
Maisy also shared how she learned a lot being part of Tori's "Purple Skies" world tour.
She considers it a dream come true.
"It's been really cool to be part of this tour, I've learned so much. The crowd has been wonderful. Tori is so sweet, and so talented. Oh, My God! She's so wonderful. It's been a really heartwarming experience for me," Maisy said.
Maisy was also part of JVKE’s “What Tour Feels Like” summer tour across the United States in 2023.
Her dreamy and fairy dusty music
Maisy is a one-of-a-kind musician, blending nostalgic dance and pop music as with mystic creatures and fairy tale vibes, through her visuals and songs.
With her newest single "Technicolor Honeymoon”, the singer-songwriter shared the feeling of being in love.
"I wrote 'Technicolor Honeymoon,' because of the whirlwind and exciting romance that I've been experiencing for the first time as an adult, which is really exciting for me because I never felt that way," she said.
Maisy has been making her mark in the music industry, collaborating with some of the industry's best, such as Timbaland, Tiësto, Rodney “Darkchild” Jerkins, and Max Martin protégé Lukas “LULOU” Loules.
