Taguig ranks 10th most competitive highly urbanized city in PH


Taguig garnered 10th place overall in the ranking for the most competitive highly urbanized cities in the country. 

The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) presented the results of the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI) during the  Creative Cities and Municipalities Congress on Aug. 23 at the Manila Hotel.

Taguig ranked first in economic dynamism in the 2024 Cities and Municipalities Competitiveness Index (CMCI, Taguig City government)

The CMCI is “an annual ranking of Philippine cities and municipalities developed by the National Competitiveness Council through the Regional Competitiveness Committees (RCCs) with the assistance of the United States Agency for International Development.”

The overall ranking was based on five criteria: economic dynamism, government efficiency,  infrastructure, resiliency and innovation. 

Taguig is the 10th most competitive highly urbanized city in the country with a score of 43.02. 

Among the five criteria, Taguig ranked first in economic dynamism, seventh in innovation,  24th in infrastructure, 28th in government efficiency, and 32nd in resiliency.

In addition, Taguig ranked first as the most improved highly urbanized city in the country.
