A prayer rally was held at the school for the 15-year-old victim before she was laid to rest on Monday, August 19.

According to the school, they gathered to show that they are united in grief and demanding justice for the death of one of their students.

“We want the people in charge to find out what really happened and to make sure that nobody else has to go through this kind of pain,” the school said in its Facebook page.

They called on the Philippine National Police (PNP) to arrest the person responsible for her death.

The victim from Barangay Sum-ag, this city, was reported missing by her family on July 30, and was found dead two weeks later in a sugarcane field in Barangay Cubay.
