DATA IS KEY Over 150 guests, both onsite and online, from diverse industries and media, gathered at the Asian Institute of Management for the official launch and opening of applications for the country's first-ever Master in Data Analytics program

Today, harnessing data is everything. It transforms raw information into actionable insights that drive success across industries. As organizations navigate a rapidly changing landscape, they rely on these insights to overcome challenges, stay competitive, and fuel innovation. Simply put, data analytics represents progress and efficiency.

Take Starbucks, for instance. A 2018 Forbes story highlights how this cafe trendsetter has mastered the art of data analytics to elevate its customer experience and drive impressive business performance. By delving into customer preferences and behaviors, the coffee giant has crafted personalized interactions and products that resonate deeply with its patrons. This savvy approach not only keeps customers returning for more but helps the java innovator stay ahead as a top global brand.

Recognizing the critical need for expertise in this field, the Asian Institute of Management (AIM) has launched the Philippines' first-ever Master in Data Analytics (MDA) program, making significant strides in preparing future leaders for a data-driven world.

The Analytics Association of the Philippines, the industry board for analytics and artificial Intelligence in the country, projects a staggering demand for 500,000 analytics professionals by 2028. This figure only scratches the surface, covering primarily the IT sector. Other fields like marketing, public relations, human resources, and even government, are increasingly data-driven, creating a vast array of opportunities for those with the right skill set.

The course equips aspiring students both flexibility and depth. This 18-month, part-time, hybrid setup is ideal for working professionals looking to advance their careers without pausing their lives. It’s tailored for today’s fast-paced world, where balancing career growth with personal commitments is crucial.

Focusing on comprehensive education, the curriculum blends theory with practical application, allowing students to work on real-world projects and gain exposure to best practices across various industries. This hands-on experience ensures that graduates don’t just leave with knowledge—they gain the confidence to apply it in real-world scenarios.

“The business landscape is rapidly evolving,” says Corinne Burgos, PhD, academic program director. “Leaders who can harness the power of data and AI will undoubtedly shape the future.”

The offering is designed to do exactly that—shape future leaders who are not only technically proficient but also possess the business acumen to communicate insights effectively and drive their organizations forward.

Since its founding in 1968, AIM has been a trailblazer in management education in Asia. The institute’s commitment to empowering students to thrive in challenging environments has never been more relevant.

Interestingly, while the advanced tools of data analytics as we know them began to take shape in the 1950s, the foundational principles of analyzing data to drive decisions have long been integral to business and management practices.

Whether you want to make your mark in automation, robotics, artificial intelligence, or any other data-driven field, the MDA provides the foundation you need to not just participate but to lead. Applications for the April 2025 intake are now ongoing. This could be your chance to take a bold step toward shaping your future in the ever-evolving digital world. aim.edu.
