Shabu, gun seized in buy-bust operation in Taguig


Police operatives arrested two men and confiscated more than P200,000 worth of suspected shabu in a buy-bust operation in Taguig on Aug. 15. 

The Taguig Police’s drug unit conducted the operation in Barangay Palingon-Tipas and arrested suspects identified as alias John, 47, and alias Rey, 53.

During the operation, a police officer posed as a buyer. Authorities confiscated 33.08 grams of suspected shabu valued at P224,944 and the buy bust money.

The police also found from John’s possession a .45-caliber pistol, a magazine, five pieces of live ammunition, a sling bag, and a holster.

A complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165 (Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002) and Republic Act 10591 (Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act) will be filed against John, while suspect Rey will face a complaint for violation of Republic Act 9165.
