Stabbing incident at UP Diliman Campus: What we know so far


The University of the Philippines (UP) Diliman issued an “urgent advisory” on Tuesday, July 9, following a stabbing incident that occurred on campus the previous night.

In the advisory released by UPD, the university confirmed a stabbing incident reported to the UPD Police around 8 p.m. on July 8.

UPD stated that the “victim was immediately brought to a hospital” for treatment following the incident.

The case has already been turned over to the Quezon City Police District for further investigation, according to UPD. No additional details were released related to the victim and the incident.

Following the incident, UPD reminded everyone to “stay vigilant and report anything suspicious to the authorities.”

Meanwhile, the UPD administration assured that it will continue to deploy “more security personnel in different areas of the campus” to ensure the safety of its students, faculty, and the general public.
