A Korean football player and model recalled his experience being a victim of six pickpockets in Bonifacio Global City (BGC) in Taguig.
In an Instagram post, Park Yiyoung, 30, who plays for the Kaya Futbol Club-Iloilo and a fashion model, said the incident happened in front of One Bonifacio High Street in BGC.
He also uploaded a video showing two of the alleged pickpockets.

“It happened in front of one Bonifacio, I was walking on the street and 6 women were surrounding me for quiet [quite] long time,” wrote Park.
He added, “Three people were in front of me, blocking my path to prevent me from walking quickly, and others were close behind me and then the people nearby suddenly dispersed and I noticed something strange.”
“So I checked my bag immediately and it was too late. the zipper was opened… they had stolen my wallet,” he said.
According to him, the pickpockets “were moving further away but still visible to me. They suddenly dispersed in three groups in different directions. So I could only chase one group. I caught up with a group and asked for my wallet back.”
Park said he asked the help of a security guard to no avail.
“They started making loud noises, asking me if I was crazy, saying “we didn't take your wallet”, and getting angry and overacting. It became clearer that they had stolen it. I asked the nearby guard for help to stop them because they had stolen my wallet, but the guard could not provide any help,” he recalled.
He added that he “kept chasing. When we reached a place with few people, one of the accomplices told to another “just give his wallet back and let’s leave” and I got my wallet back.”
“After checking all the IDs and cards in my wallet, I started taking videos to leave evidence. Unfortunately, I was not able to check my cash inside of my wallet at that time, so some cash is still missing,’ he said.
He said, “Anyway long story short, I’m safe and I got my wallet back but still missing some cash. is it good or bad? I hope that you all remain alert and careful that something like this never happens again. Be safe everyone #bgc #pickpocket #besafe.”
