20 wanted individuals fall in Cordillera

CAMP DANGWA, Benguet â€“ Police arrested 20 wanted individuals in the Cordillera region from June 30 to July 6.

The Baguio City Police Office caught nine, followed by the Benguet Police Provincial Office (PPO) with six, Kalinga PPO with threes, and Ifugao PPO with two.

Four were most wanted persons on the provincial level and two on the regional level.

Fifty-two municipalities in the region and five police stations in Baguio City were crime-free: 19 in Abra, nine in Mountain Province, eight in Ifugao, seven in Benguet, five in Apayao, four in Kalinga, and Baguio City Police Stations 2, 3, 5, 7, and 9.

Meanwhile, shabu and marijuana worth P8.8 million were seized and three drug pushers were arrested in the Cordillera from July 1 to 7.

PRO-Cordillera Director Police Brig. Gen. David Peredo Jr. said 26,870 fully grown marijuana plants, 29 kilos of dried marijuana leaves and fruiting tops, and 1.22 grams of shabu with a combined value of P8,862,296 were confiscated and destroyed.
